SMES TO MEET THE PRIMES AT AVALON 2023

Thanks to the success of the ‘Meet the Primes' program at last year's Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition, BenchOn, in conjunction with Hays and Michael Fairweather & Associates, is running another exciting event to help small to medium businesses better understand and connect with Australia's primes.

Fifty SME participants will hear presentations from nine primes on Thursday 2 March at AVALON 2023, who will outline and answer questions on opportunities, programs, requirements and tips to join their supply chains. The primes participating in the event include:

  1. Airbus Australia
  2. BAE Systems Australia
  3. CAE Australia
  4. Downer Defence
  5. DXC Technology
  6. Hanwha Defense Australia
  7. L3Harris Technologies
  8. Leonardo Australia
  9. Thales Australia

BenchOn CEO, Tim Walmsley, said: “Giving SMEs and Primes the opportunity to meet, communicate and collaborate is key to Australia’s successful delivery of vital projects.

"We are seeking to create a diverse ecosystem, to ensure our Sovereign Capability for years to come.”

SMEs will be selected to participate based on how well their capabilities match the requirements of the primes. This will increase the chance of the SMEs successfully entering the relevant supply chains and winning future work. SMEs can then request supported introductions to the primes of their choice at the end of the event.

This free 'Meet the Primes' event will:

  • Help link small business capability into the prime's supply chain,
  • Promote the capabilities required for some of Australia's biggest programs,
  • Provide small businesses the opportunities to get their questions answered by the right people,
  • Kickstart relationships that may become highly beneficial to both parties.

Registrations for SMEs close at 5pm on Friday 10 February 23. SMEs will be selected to attend based on their company capabilities and how well those align to what the Primes are looking for. SMEs that are selected will be notified by 17 February 23.

Meet the Primes will be held from 0930 - 1200 on Thursday 2 March at AVALON 2023.
